Hubert Reynier, Founder of Visconti, today welcomes Max Aniort, director of Le Collectionist, around the theme of the phoenix representing longevity and the ability to rise from one's own ashes.
The history of the Le Collectionist company
The Collectionist offers its customers tailor-made experiences of extraordinary vacations in private homes with services included. The travel industry is changing and customers now want to be in places that belong to them, with a certain amount of privacy.
It is with this in mind that the Collectionist was created eight years ago. They first started by bringing together the most beautiful houses, then added services (car rental, chef, various outings...) and today they also offer to organize events.
The company now has 200 employees and will reach around 100 million in business this year. They are currently in the process of considering a 10-year plan.
Entrepreneurship is not easy and Le Collectionist has had its difficult moments:
they sought to define their business model, to find a way to be profitable... They relaunched the company. Being in the travel sector, 2020 was a complicated year for them, they had to think about how to reinvent their business. The phoenix image is well chosen because a company has several lives, like the phoenix rising from the ashes.
Max Aniort's feeling about the luxury tourism market is that it is a very resilient environment and that customers no longer consume travel in the same way as they did a few years ago.
In terms of the team, there is a lot of energy flowing through the Collectionist. There is a lot of respect and trust between employees. According to Max Aniort, the quality of work is important for oneself, for customers but also between colleagues.
Max Aniort has a very effective Board that motivates and pushes him when needed. Leading a Board of Directors represents a lot of work and it must be based on values. The reporting side is essential. The Board of Directors must be aligned with the interests of the company but also with its current ambitions.
Max Aniort's leadership style:
- Be transparent
- Understand the company's overall project
- Engaging around the company's vision
Max Aniort's advice to be a good leader:
When recruiting, make a call with the person. In order to be sure that the person is in line with the values of the company, also, take time for this newcomer. It is therefore necessary to participate as much as possible in recruitment to filter and engage people.
His biggest lesson as a leader:
Max Aniort believes that being a manager encompasses several jobs. There are life cycles in a society, the job then changes at each stage, changes, this forces them to reinvent themselves. For this, everyone's commitment is necessary. Max Aniort is happy and grateful to his teams. He wants to connect with them.
